March 16
Riders: Tommy and Antoine
Destination: The Depeaux - Independence
Comments: A beautiful day for riding had it's hiccups. Antoine lead the ride and missed his first turn on LA 22. Following his GPS we took a meandering ride before getting back on track to LA 42 then LA 43. At a 4 way stop sign on LA 43, Tommy's bike died. Would not start though the dash displays were still displaying. Trying to start the bike only resulted in a clicking sound. Antoine helped push the bike off the road. Thinking disaster had hit we began to try to solve the problem and eventually determined it was a battery problem. The battery connections were disconnected and cleaned and reconnected. The bike started up and had no further problems the rest of the ride. After a good meal, we returned by the usual route (LA 40, LA 43, LA 42, LA 22 and decided to take the east bank river road to the Gramercy Bridge before returning home. The ride covered 197 miles and the weather was great.
